The Ferragosto gastronomic walk in the medieval village
The Giriata p' lu paes' is the Ferragosto festival of Casalciprano, a municipality in the province of Campobasso. It is held on August 15th and, true to its dialect name (the "giriata" around the village), it takes place as a collective walk on foot along the village streets, with tastings, music, and moments of conviviality.
The route winds through the charming medieval historic center of the village, offering tastings of typical products along the way — including the traditional pizz'e m'nestre — and the discovery of places, views, and vistas of the ancient village. The walk thus becomes a sensory itinerary that combines gastronomy, landscape, and historical memory, in true Molise spirit.
The day concludes with the evening in the square, a moment of music and celebration that brings together residents, returning emigrants, and visitors. The Giriata p' lu paes' is one of the most characteristic events of Casalciprano's summer, capable of enhancing the village and its culinary traditions in a festive and participatory way.
The 2026 edition of the Giriata p' lu paes' in Casalciprano takes place on August 15th, as per the municipality's event calendar. The collective walk through the medieval historic center, with tastings of typical products — including pizz'e m'nestre — music, and panoramic views, concludes with the festive evening in the square.
