The homecoming of Baranello's emigrants worldwide
The Festa degli Emigranti (Festival of Emigrants) in Baranello, in the province of Campobasso, is the Ferragosto festival that annually draws back to the hometown the many emigrants from Baranello living in Italy and abroad. As in many villages in Molise—a region historically marked by emigration—summer becomes the time for return and reunion: families and friends gather, squares fill up again, and the community comes back together around its roots.
Four days of celebration
From August 12th to 15th, the historic center of Baranello hosts festive moments that blend music, gastronomy, and social life, organized by the Pro Loco G. Zurlo. More than just a spectacular event, the Festa degli Emigranti is a collective ritual of welcome and belonging, strengthening the bond between the village and its distant children.
