The Sagra del Fegatello is the gastronomic festival that enlivens Limosano every August 14th, a municipality in the province of Campobasso in the Biferno valley. The star is the pork fegatello, a typical product of Molise's peasant tradition, prepared and enjoyed according to local recipes.
The festival takes place on the eve of Ferragosto and kicks off the most intense period of the Limosano summer, which continues with the patron saint's festival of San Ludovico (August 19th) and the festival of San Donato. It is an event that combines gastronomy, conviviality, and tradition, attracting residents, visitors, and emigrated Limosano locals to the village.
Among the festival stalls and the streets of the historic centre perched on the tuff hill, the Sagra del Fegatello tells the gastronomic identity of a village that makes traditional cuisine one of its distinctive features.
In 2026 too, Limosano dedicates August 14th to the Sagra del Fegatello, a gastronomic event preceding the patron saint's festival of San Ludovico. The event promotes pork fegatello, prepared according to the traditional peasant recipes of the Biferno valley, with food stalls and conviviality in the historic centre of the village in the province of Campobasso.
