The grand communal dinner under the stars in Galliano di Mugello
Galliano a Tavola is much more than just a dinner: it is the moment when the entire village of Galliano, a small hamlet in the municipality of Barberino di Mugello (Province of Florence, Tuscany), gathers around the same long tables. The setting is Piazza IV Novembre, the town's main square, which for one night transforms into a single, incredibly long dining table in the open air. Over four hundred people sit side by side to dine together, make new friends, and enjoy the beauty of a cool summer evening under a starry sky.
The heart of the event is local cuisine. Guests can choose between two different menus, prepared with genuine ingredients from the Mugello region. It is a celebration of the most authentic Tuscan conviviality: you sit down, savor excellent dishes, and spend a pleasant evening in good company, accompanied by music.
Galliano is a small medieval village of just over 1,500 inhabitants, nestled in the heart of the Mugello valley at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, about 35 km from Florence. It is known for the picturesque cypress-lined road that leads to the Acqua Panna spring, one of the area's landmarks. In this authentic setting, the dinner takes on a special value: it is the festival with which the community kicks off the summer, strengthening local bonds in one of the hamlet's most cherished traditions.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Galliano Mugello in collaboration with the ANSPI Oratory of Galliano and under the patronage of the Municipality of Barberino di Mugello. It is an event entirely built by local volunteers, a living expression of the Mugello community spirit.
Participation in the dinner is limited and requires a reservation. Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite or in paper format at the Coop in Galliano. We recommend booking in advance, as seats sell out quickly: Galliano a Tavola is now one of the most anticipated evenings of the Mugello summer.
The 2026 edition of Galliano a Tavola took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Piazza IV Novembre, in the village of Galliano. As per tradition, the square transformed into one large open-air dining table where the community and visitors dined together under the stars, in an evening dedicated to good local food, music, and company.
Tickets were sold online via Eventbrite and in paper format at the Coop in Galliano, with bookings closing in the days leading up to the event.
