The premier trail running event on the paths of Monte Fenera, in Valduggia
The FUT – Fenera Trail is a trail running event held in Valduggia, a small town in the Valsesia valley in the Province of Vercelli, in the heart of north-eastern Piedmont. The inaugural edition took place on May 16, 2026, attracting nearly 600 athletes and transforming a running race into a day of celebration enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, both during and after the races.
The heart of the event lies in the trails of Monte Fenera and its Natural Park, featuring technical climbs, beech forests, and spectacular glimpses of the Valsesia valley. The competitive offering is divided into three tracks designed for every level of preparation:
Along the course, participants traverse local hamlets, Monte Tre Croci, and the summit of Monte Fenera, in an itinerary highly praised for its trail maintenance, clear signage, and logistical care.
Despite being a young event, the Fenera Trail is included in the international ITRA calendar and the regional UISP circuit, with scores valid for the UTMB Index. Athlete rankings and times are published at the end of the day, confirming the event's competitive dimension alongside its popular appeal.
The race motto – «Where Luca's passion continues to run» – captures the deep spirit of the initiative: the Fenera Trail was born in memory of Luca Colombo, a runner and beloved figure in the Valduggia community. The organization is managed by Amatori Sport ASD in collaboration with numerous local associations and the support of the Colombo family, with Radio Valsesia providing entertainment throughout the day. More than just a competition, the Fenera Trail is a festival that showcases Valduggia's ability to embrace sport in the heart of nature.
