About Full Moon Walk

The Full Moon Walk is a non-competitive run and walk that transforms the Serra woods in Torrazzo, in the province of Biella, into a magical moonlit trail every June. Featuring two routes of 6 and 10 kilometers, headlamps, and a festive atmosphere perfect for the whole family, the event organized by Pro Loco Torrazzo APS combines sport, nature, and socialising, wrapping up the evening with refreshments and dinner at the Bocciodromo.

A night of full moon in the Serra woods

The Full Moon Walk has become a highly anticipated date on the summer calendar of Torrazzo, a small town in the Province of Biella nestled on the Serra Morenica, one of the most picturesque hills in Piedmont. It is a non-competitive run and walk that takes place at dusk, when the forest paths are illuminated only by the light of the full moon and the participants' headlamps. It is not a traditional timed race: it is primarily a different and poetic way to experience nature, sharing the effort and smiles with friends, families, and curious visitors.

Two routes for everyone

The event offers two loop trails starting and ending near the village:

  • 6 km route, ideal for families, children, and walkers;
  • 10 km route, designed for those looking for a bit more distance and elevation gain through the Serra woods.

Every participant must be equipped with a headlamp or torch, which is essential for safely navigating the dark trails. Given the season, mosquito repellent is also recommended. The initiative is particularly loved by children, who participate in large numbers every year with their headlamps on, making the evening even more lively.

Sport, nature, and socialising

The Full Moon Walk was born from the desire of the Pro Loco Torrazzo APS to promote the Serra area and offer an opportunity for outdoor gathering. After its debut in 2024 and the growing success of the 2025 edition, which drew nearly 140 participants, the event has established itself as one of the most enjoyable summer happenings in the Biella area. The atmosphere is relaxed and festive: people walk or run in groups, chat, admire the night landscape, and end the evening together.

The social moment

Upon returning, participants find refreshments and the opportunity to stay for a convivial dinner at the Bocciodromo of Torrazzo, the event's organizational hub. The evening concludes with a prize draw featuring items provided by local sponsors and businesses, a way to thank those who support the community and its volunteers. For those who want to discover the authentic soul of the Biella Serra, the Full Moon Walk is an unmissable experience.

Full Moon Walk — edition 2026

The third edition of the Full Moon Walk returns to Torrazzo on Friday, June 26, 2026: a non-competitive moonlit run and walk in the Serra woods, with 6 and 10 km routes, starting from the Bocciodromo and ending with a social evening featuring refreshments, dinner, and a prize draw.

The third edition of the Full Moon Walk takes place on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Torrazzo, in the Province of Biella.
