Artisan crafts and natural products market in the village of Montechiarugolo
From Alabaster to Ginger is the artisan crafts and natural products market that every year, in July, enlivens the historic center of Montechiarugolo, in the province of Parma, Emilia-Romagna. For two consecutive evenings, the cobbled streets of the village, dominated by the famous Montechiarugolo Castle overlooking the Enza Valley, fill with stalls, scents, and colors, transforming into a large open-air stage dedicated to creativity and artisan craftsmanship.
The event showcases designer craftsmanship and natural, organic, and genuine products: jewelry, handmade ceramics, wooden objects, herbs, stones, and a thousand combinations of arts and crafts related to the well-being of body and mind, healthy eating, and sustainability. The stalls are set up along the streets of the center, while the refreshment area is located in Piazza Mazzini, right in front of the castle, where you can dine outdoors immersed in the village atmosphere.
Montechiarugolo is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy: its medieval core, built around the castle erected by the Sanvitale family and the stage for illustrious figures over the centuries, is a perfect setting for an event that combines crafts, gastronomy, and tradition. A few kilometers from Parma, the event is the ideal opportunity to discover the Parma hills, stroll through the shops, and savor the great local products such as Parmigiano Reggiano and culatello.
Now in its twenty-fifth edition, From Alabaster to Ginger has become one of the most beloved summer events in the municipality of Montechiarugolo and the entire province of Parma, attracting thousands of visitors each year in search of original purchases, good music, and a different evening in the cool summer air.
The 26th edition of From Alabaster to Ginger returns to Montechiarugolo on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, open from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Along the streets of the historic center, the market of excellent craftsmanship, natural, organic, and ethnic products unfolds, while the refreshment area welcomes visitors in Piazza Mazzini, in front of the castle.
The 2026 edition offers a renewed format with a themed setting, costumes, and period atmospheres that provide a backdrop for music, shows, and evening tastings.

The detailed program, with the schedules of individual shows, will be published by the organization in the weeks preceding the event.
