About Fratta Grand Prix

A fun and adrenaline-fueled race that transforms the historic center of Umbertide into a circuit: teams aboard original pedal cars, built and decorated by the participants, compete in the streets and squares of the town in the Upper Tiber Valley. Born as a recreational and community initiative, the Fratta Grand Prix Trophy combines spectacle, fun, and community spirit, with a new race for children and a fundraising event for charity.

A Grand Prix All on Pedals

The Fratta Grand Prix Trophy is the most fun challenge of the year in Umbertide: teams aboard self-built and decorated pedal cars compete for the trophy along a circuit set up in the streets and squares of the historic center of the town, in the province of Perugia. Speed, humor, and imagination mix in a race that draws a large crowd to the sides of the track.

From Fun to Social Value

Born a few years ago as a recreational initiative, the event has grown to become an appointment of strong community and social value, recognized and sponsored by the Municipality of Umbertide. It is organized by the Fratta Grand Prix Association (chaired by Simona Baldi) together with the Don Chisciotte Association, with the aim of strengthening community ties and enlivening the city center.

A Race for the Little Ones Too

The big news of recent editions is the Kids' Grand Prix, dedicated to children aged 7 to 12, which officially opens the trophy day. The entire proceeds of the initiative are donated to the Daniele Chianelli Committee for Life, a historic local organization committed to supporting children and adults suffering from leukemia, tumors, and thalassemia. Spectacle and solidarity go hand in hand.

Fratta Grand Prix — edition 2026

The 4th edition of the Fratta Grand Prix Trophy is spread over two days: the main pedal car race on April 14, 2026, in the historic center of Umbertide, and the new Kids' Grand Prix on May 31, 2026, with proceeds going to the Daniele Chianelli Committee.

The fourth edition of the Fratta Grand Prix Trophy confirms the spectacular formula of pedal cars in the historic center of Umbertide and introduces an important novelty dedicated to the little ones. The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality for its strong community and social value, is organized by the Fratta Grand Prix and Don Chisciotte associations.
