The Christmas City
With the 'Gubbio is Christmas' initiative, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Umbria is enveloped in the festive atmosphere for over a month. The village of Gubbio, in the province of Perugia, becomes a large, spread-out Christmas park, attracting visitors from all over Italy.
Attractions
The program combines numerous attractions in the historic center:
- Christmas Markets in Piazza Quaranta Martiri, with wooden stalls, local products, crafts, and decorations;
- ChristmasLand, a large covered Christmas-themed village;
- The ice skating rink;
- The Great North Pole Ferris Wheel;
- The Gubbio Express Christmas train, Santa's sleigh, and nativity scenes;
- Artistic illuminations in Piazza San Giovanni.
The tree that dominates the city
To top it all off is the World's Largest Christmas Tree, which lights up on Mount Ingino and becomes the spectacular backdrop for the entire Gubbio Christmas season.

The 2026 edition of 'Gubbio is Christmas' envelops the village from November 21, 2026, to January 6, 2027. The Christmas Markets in Piazza Quaranta Martiri offer local products, crafts, and decorations, while the covered village of ChristmasLand provides a themed experience for children and families. The offer is completed by the ice skating rink, the Great North Pole Ferris Wheel, the Gubbio Express train, Santa's sleigh, and nativity scenes. The backdrop is the unmistakable World's Largest Christmas Tree illuminating Mount Ingino.
