In Mulazzo, a small village in the Lunigiana area of the Massa-Carrara province, in Tuscany, the Fratres Mulazzo Festival is the day the Fratres Blood Donor Group dedicates to its community of volunteers. In 2026, the event takes on a special meaning: the group celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, half a century of quiet yet fundamental commitment to the cause of blood donation.

Where it takes place

The heart of the festival is the Parco del Donatore (Donor Park), located in Ceragoso di Gavedo, a hamlet nestled in the greenery of the Mulazzo municipality. This space, envisioned and maintained over the years by the Fratres group itself, also houses the National Monument to the Donor and has become the landmark for the association's events. Here, in the open air, donors, families, and local residents gather for a day of connection and conviviality.

The Fratres group of Mulazzo

The Fratres Blood Donor Group of Mulazzo was founded in the mid-seventies and has since promoted the culture of blood donation throughout the Lunigiana region. In addition to the anniversary festival, the group organizes the traditional Frascata del Donatore during the summer, featuring food stalls and musical evenings that attract numerous visitors from across the Massa-Carrara province. Participating in the Fratres Mulazzo Festival means concretely supporting a volunteer organization that has put life and generosity at the center for fifty years.
