The youth football tournament where tomorrow's champions meet Serie A stars
The Football Festival is an event dedicated to youth football held in Poggibonsi, a key town in the Valdelsa area of the province of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. Conceived and organized by the young members of the Virtus Biancoazzurra club, the event was born from a simple yet ambitious idea: to transform a weekend of children's tournaments into a grand celebration of football, bringing together the champions of tomorrow with the stars of the Italian game.
The heart of the event lies in the tournaments reserved for youth categories. Matches are played on the pitches of the Virtus Biancoazzurra Sports Center with a dynamic format: three parallel tournaments each day, one for each category, with final rounds held in the afternoon. The games kick off in the morning and involve teams from various local clubs.
What makes the Football Festival truly special is the presence of nationally renowned guests. Serie A legends who have enlivened the event include former goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, coach Leonardo Semplici, and defender Daniele Gastaldello. Alongside them, some of Italy's most followed content creators from the world of football and freestyle join in, drawing thousands of young fans. For the children, it is a unique opportunity to meet their idols up close, take photos, and collect autographs.
The Football Festival is much more than a tournament. Surrounding the pitches, numerous side activities are designed to engage the whole family:
During the weekend, the club also presents its calendar of summer tournaments, an event now highly anticipated by the young talents of Tuscan football.
Organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Poggibonsi, the Football Festival represents a vibrant sign of life for the sporting community of the Sienese Valdelsa. It is an initiative that highlights the values of youth sports, team spirit, and fun, offering children an unforgettable experience in contact with the big names of Italian football.
The first edition of the Football Festival kicked off on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with tournaments reserved for the Piccoli Amici, Primi Calci, and Pulcini categories. Sunday, May 17, was the turn of the Primi Calci, Pulcini, and Esordienti categories. The matches began at 9:30 AM each day, with the final rounds played in the afternoon.
Making the weekend memorable was the presence of guests such as former goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, coach Leonardo Semplici, and defender Daniele Gastaldello, alongside some of the most followed Italian content creators. Beside the pitches, there were mini-games, food trucks, and a stage area with interviews, making it a football celebration open to all families.
