About Grape Harvest Festival

The Fontanafredda Grape Harvest Festival celebrates the ancient ritual of grape picking among the vineyards of Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Langhe region. Two days of music, entertainment for all ages, street food, and fine wine bring the 'Villaggio Narrante' of the historic Fontanafredda estate to life. A free event (booking required) dedicated to the land, sustainability, and the biodiversity of the Piedmontese hills, where farming tradition meets the oenological excellence of Barolo.

A festival in the heart of the Langhe

The Fontanafredda Grape Harvest Festival is one of the most evocative food and wine events on the autumn calendar in the Municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. The event takes place at the Fontanafredda Estate, the famous 'Villaggio Narrante' nestled among the vineyards of the Barolo hills, in a wine landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The ancient ritual of the harvest

The event celebrates the ancient ritual of grape picking and the biodiversity of the Langa hills, during a weekend that weaves together farming tradition, wine culture, and fun for all ages. Among the symbolic moments of the event is the barefoot grape treading, an ancient gesture that brings visitors back to the most authentic essence of work in the vineyards.

What to expect

Two days full of activities designed for families, enthusiasts, and the curious, dedicated to the Langhe-Monferrato-Roero territory:

  • Live music and shows for adults and children
  • Street food and local gastronomic specialties
  • Tastings of great Fontanafredda wines, starting with Barolo
  • Guided tours of the estate's historic cellars
  • Activities dedicated to sustainability and biodiversity
  • Walks in the woods and among the rows of vines

Sustainability and the territory

The Grape Harvest Festival focuses on the values of sustainability and respect for the land, in line with the philosophy of the Fontanafredda 'Villaggio Narrante'. The event is a hymn to the biodiversity of the Piedmontese hills, where the bond between man and nature is renewed every year with the harvest season.

A place steeped in history

The Fontanafredda Estate, formerly the hunting reserve of King Victor Emmanuel II, is today one of the most important institutions for Barolo, capable of preserving its history and traditions. Visiting the Grape Harvest Festival means discovering an iconic corner of Piedmontese wine culture, among historic cellars, restaurants, and spaces dedicated to culture and nature.
