Fly Future - Aviation, Space and Flight Careers Fair

A unique exhibition in Italy on flight professions

Created to answer a simple yet decisive question — how do you become a pilot, air traffic controller, aerospace engineer, or maintenance technician? — Fly Future has established itself in just a few years as the only Italian event entirely dedicated to future aviation and space professionals. The event takes place every February in Rome, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, the institutional heart of Lazio and home to the country's main aerospace entities.

The setting is no coincidence: the event is hosted in the Didactic Building of the Engineering Macro-area of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, one of the most active academic hubs in Italian aerospace research. The organization is managed by the company Mediarkè together with the Ifimedia association and the university itself.

Conferences, testimonials, and career guidance

The program is built around a dozen thematic conferences held in the Macro-area's lecture halls, from the "Mario Calderara" main hall to rooms A3 and A4. These are not academic lectures: the speakers are active professionals who share their career paths, requirements, selection processes, training costs, and real employment prospects.

• Commercial Aviation — pilots from ITA Airways, Aeroitalia, Neos, EasyJet, and Wizz Air, as well as flight attendants, flight dispatchers, and air traffic controllers.
• Air Force — entrance exams, academies, and careers in the armed forces.
• Space — testimonials from Italian astronauts and speeches by companies such as Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio, and Avio.
• Training — certified flight schools, technological ITS Academies, and aerospace engineering degree courses.

The exhibition area

Alongside the conference rooms, there is an exhibition area featuring stands from schools, academies, companies, associations, and industry firms: here, visitors can speak directly with recruitment and training managers, ask for information on applications, and collect materials. The most recent edition brought together about twenty-five industry entities, accompanied by model aircraft exhibitions dedicated to the planes used by the Frecce Tricolori.

Target audience

The Fly Future audience consists largely of high school and university students, often visiting with their classes, but the event is open to everyone: aviation enthusiasts, families, and professionals looking to retrain. The two days, always running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allow attendees to follow multiple conferences and visit the stands at their leisure.

Rome and its aerospace district

Hosting such an event in the capital has a precise logic: Lazio concentrates a significant part of the national aerospace industry, from the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports to research centers and major companies in the sector. Tor Vergata, with its laboratories and the recent "Dronodromo" dedicated to remotely piloted systems, represents a natural link between university education and the world of work.

A growing project

Starting quietly, the exhibition has seen the number of speakers and visitors grow edition after edition, exceeding eight hundred attendees with over forty presentations. The formula, however, remains the same: little fluff, lots of concrete information, and direct contact between those who want to enter the sector and those who already work in it.
