Flower Gravel

A ride through the flowers of the Monregalese

Flower Gravel is a non-competitive cycling event held in Vicoforte, in the heart of the Monregalese area, in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont). Every year, at the beginning of June, hundreds of cycling enthusiasts gather in the square next to the famous Santuario Regina Montis Regalis—renowned for having the largest elliptical dome in the world—to set off and explore the white roads and dirt trails that cross the area's blooming hills.

The "no race" philosophy

Unlike a traditional race, Flower Gravel embraces a pure cycle-touring philosophy: there are no stopwatches, rankings, or competition. The event is dedicated to those who want to experience freedom and a connection with nature, riding without the pressure of time. It is truly open to everyone, from beginners to experienced cyclists, with routes perfectly suited for Gravel bikes, MTBs, and E-Bikes.

The three routes

The event offers three tracks of increasing difficulty, with an average of about 40% unpaved terrain:

• Short route — 45 km (approx. +700 m elevation gain): ideal for those new to gravel riding.
• Medium route — 65 km (approx. +1,000 m): for intermediate-level cyclists.
• Long route — 85 km (approx. +1,300 m): covers five local municipalities and is reserved for the most well-trained riders.

An iconic section common to all routes is the climb from Breo to Piazza, passing at the foot of the panoramic Belvedere tower in Mondovì, which is the most challenging and picturesque part of the entire day.

A territory to be experienced in the saddle

The itinerary winds through the municipalities of Vicoforte, Roccaforte Mondovì, and Piazza, offering glimpses of forests, blooming fields, and small villages in the Monregalese. The event is part of the broader OFF event calendar and the Florete Flores floriculture fair, creating a weekend of celebration centered on nature and the outdoors. Departures are flexible between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, allowing everyone to choose their own pace.
