A new festival in the heart of the Monti Simbruini

Saturday, August 1, 2026, marks the debut of the First Mountain Festival in Trevi nel Lazio, an event designed to celebrate the deep bond between the village and its natural surroundings. Nestled in the Upper Aniene Valley and surrounded by the peaks of the Monti Simbruini Regional Nature Park, the village dedicates an entire day to the mountains, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM along Viale Cesare Battisti. As the name suggests, this is the very first edition: a fresh appointment that aims to become a staple of the Trevi summer.

Who is organizing the festival

The event is promoted by the Pro Loco of Trevi nel Lazio in collaboration with the Municipality of Trevi nel Lazio, the FIDC, and other local associations. It is a collective project born from the local community, bringing together volunteers, hunters, producers, and families with a common goal: to showcase the area's excellence and offer an evening of authentic conviviality to residents and visitors alike.

The program of the first edition

The festival begins in the afternoon at 4:00 PM with entertainment along Viale Cesare Battisti. The heart of the evening kicks off at 7:00 PM, when the food stalls open, offering plenty of specialties to enjoy: traditional mountain dishes and local products from the Upper Aniene Valley, prepared and served by volunteers. From 9:30 PM, the party continues with live music, accompanying the public until closing time at 11:00 PM. A simple and genuine format, in the most classic style of Lazio village festivals: good food, good company, and melodies under the August stars.

The flavours of the mountains

Gastronomy is the absolute star of the evening. The stalls offer local specialties, an expression of mountain cuisine made of simple ingredients and handed-down recipes: an opportunity to discover the flavours of the Upper Aniene Valley, one of the most pristine areas of Lazio, where shepherding, forests, and spring waters have shaped the local table for centuries.

Trevi nel Lazio, in the province of Frosinone, is one of the most charming villages in the Monti Simbruini: a mountain town dominated by the Castello Caetani, an ideal starting point for excursions towards the springs of the Aniene river and the park's plateaus. The First Mountain Festival is also an invitation to discover this authentic corner of the Lazio Region, just over an hour from Rome, where summer offers cool temperatures and lush green landscapes. The festival is part of the rich summer calendar of Trevi, which enlivens the village between July and August with food festivals, religious celebrations, and cultural events.
