The national Resistance festival in the woods of the Fosdinovo Museum
"Fino al cuore della Rivolta" is the first national festival dedicated to the Italian Resistance. It takes place in Fosdinovo, a village in the upper Lunigiana region in the province of Massa-Carrara, in the heart of Tuscany, which was once crossed by the Gothic Line. The venue is the Audiovisual Museum of the Resistance, built on the ruins of a children's colony established by partisans after the war and now immersed in a chestnut forest that serves as a natural backdrop for the performances.
Organized by the Archivi della Resistenza - Circolo Edoardo Bassignani association, active since 2004, the festival has grown into a landmark for those who wish to keep the memory of anti-fascism alive, blending civic engagement with popular festivities.
The festival features two distinct moments. The first is the long summer program in August, spanning about ten evenings and featuring over forty artists alongside numerous debates with historians, writers, and figures of civic commitment. The second is the April 25th weekend, designed to celebrate the anniversary of the Liberation with social lunches, resistance-themed concerts, and moments of sharing in the museum's woods.
The program weaves together different genres and languages: singer-songwriter music and folk, punk, civic theater, storytelling, readings, and editorial presentations. Over the years, the stage has hosted names such as 99 Posse, Modena City Ramblers, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Gang, Yo Yo Mundi, Bobo Rondelli, Ascanio Celestini, Moni Ovadia, and Lella Costa, along with many emerging bands featured in the after-shows.
All performances are free of charge. The festival maintains a community-driven and self-managed spirit: catering services with local products, a free camping area in the woods, free shuttles from the center of Fosdinovo, and spaces dedicated to children with readings, games, and workshops. It is an opportunity to combine historical reflection with conviviality in one of the most symbolic places of partisan memory in Tuscany.
The April 25, 2026 edition of "Fino al cuore della Rivolta" celebrates the 81st anniversary of the Liberation with a weekend in the woods of the Audiovisual Museum of the Resistance in Fosdinovo. The day of April 25th opens with a social lunch (12:30 PM), continues with the resistance concert (2:30 PM)—a formula that weaves music and memory, tradition and reinterpretation—and closes from 4:00 PM with a snack open to everyone. The event, dedicated to the memory of Nello Masetti, maintains its popular and participatory dimension, between civic commitment and conviviality.
The detailed program with the names of the guests is announced by the Archivi della Resistenza in the days preceding the event on official channels. Over the years, the April 25th formula has hosted artists of the Italian singer-songwriter and folk music scene.
Fosdinovo is located in the upper Lunigiana, in the province of Massa-Carrara. By car, it can be reached from the A12 motorway (Carrara or Sarzana exit) or the A15 Cisa motorway. The nearest train stations are Sarzana or Carrara-Avenza, from which you can continue by road.
The shows take place in the woods of the Audiovisual Museum of the Resistance, above the village of Fosdinovo.
During the festival, free shuttles are available from the Fosdinovo sports field. Free parking is available nearby.
Free entry to all shows. Catering services, a free camping area in the woods, and spaces for children are available.
