About San Felice Fair

On the third Sunday of October, Santo Stefano di Magra revives one of its oldest traditions: the San Felice Fair, whose origins date back to the 18th century and which is rooted in the medieval markets along the Via Francigena. Hundreds of stalls wind from Via Togliatti to the historic center, featuring artisan products, food items, and an agri-food exhibition that showcases the flavors of this corner of the Province of La Spezia.

A fair that comes from afar

The San Felice Fair is one of the oldest traditions in the area, in Santo Stefano di Magra (Province of La Spezia). Its 18th-century origins are linked to the transfer of the urn containing the relics of Saint Felix to the parish church, but the village's market tradition is even older: as early as the Middle Ages, Santo Stefano was an important stopover for pilgrims along the Via Francigena, a trading hub on the road to Rome.

Hundreds of stalls in the heart of the village

Every third Sunday of October, the fair brings hundreds of stalls to the village, winding from Via Togliatti, near the highway junction, along Via Tavilla, Nenni, and Vecchia del Piano, reaching the historic center. Among the stalls, you can find everything: artisan products, food items, clothing, and household goods.

The flavors of the territory

The gastronomic heart of the day is the Agri-food Exhibition and Market, an opportunity for local producers to showcase the gastronomic traditions of Lunigiana and Val di Magra. In the morning, at 11:00 AM, a solemn Mass in the Church of Santo Stefano Protomartire renews the religious significance of the fair, blending faith, history, and commerce.
