The great August sagra of Arba, under the horse chestnut tree
In Arba, in western Friuli, there is a summer event that the town awaits all year round: the Fieste sot il Crupisignâr, meaning "festival under the horse chestnut tree," the tree that gives its name and shade to one of the oldest and most beloved sagre in the Pordenone foothills. In 2025, it celebrated its 40th edition, a milestone that testifies to how deeply rooted this festival is in the community.
The sagra stands out for its cuisine: the absolute stars are the handmade gnocchi and the meat barbecues, accompanied by a wine bar with local and national wines, a beer garden, and a white bar. The evening part is dedicated to live music and dancing, with orchestras and bands taking turns on stage for many evenings, as well as events like the vintage car rally, the spritz party, and the fishing competition.
Arba's event is not just a single weekend festival, but a long-running event spread over most of August, with an equipped and covered area that ensures festivities and hospitality every evening. Organized by Pro Loco Arba with the support of the Municipality of Arba (Province of Pordenone), the Fieste sot il Crupisignâr is the beating heart of the town's summer, offering good food, music, and social gatherings.
The Fieste sot il Crupisignâr will return to Arba in August 2026, continuing the long tradition of the event; the precise dates will be confirmed by Pro Loco Arba. After the 40th edition in 2025, the festival will again offer its multi-day program, featuring food, music, and dancing.
The detailed 2026 program will be published by Pro Loco Arba in the weeks prior. Based on recent editions, the festival includes:

Admission: free, including for dancing evenings; food and drinks at the stands are paid.
