The prized white truffle takes centre stage in the village of the Golden Bronzes
The National Fair of the Prized White Truffle of Pergola is one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the Marche autumn. Every year, on the first Sundays of October, the historic centre of the Municipality of Pergola, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, comes alive to celebrate Tuber Magnatum Pico, the precious white truffle that grows in the woods of the Cesano Valley. The fair traditionally opens the Italian season of major events dedicated to this tuber, preceding the more famous fairs of Central Italy.
Pergola is not just a land of truffles: since 2018 it has been part of the prestigious circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and holds a treasure unique in the world, the Golden Bronzes, the most important gilded bronze group from the Roman era that has survived to our time. During the fair, visitors can combine gastronomic discovery with a visit to the museum that houses these extraordinary equestrian statues, thus experiencing a journey that intertwines taste, art, and history in the heart of the Marche.
The village is divided into several thematic areas. In Piazza Ginevri is the Casa del Tartufo (Truffle House), an excellent showcase where you can admire and purchase the prized tuber; along Corso Matteotti and Via Don Minzoni are the stands with food and wine specialities from all over Italy, while Viale Martiri della Libertà hosts the trade fair. Traditional dishes enhanced by truffle are also featured: tagliolini pasta, eggs, carpaccio, and cheeses, to be enjoyed at the stands in the centre.
In addition to tastings, the event offers a packed schedule of appointments:
The Pergola Truffle Fair is organised by the Municipality of Pergola and represents an unmissable event for those who want to discover the authenticity of the Marche Region, amidst local excellences, tradition, and the hospitality of a medieval village.
The 29th edition of the National Fair of the Prized White Truffle of Pergola will be held in October 2026 in the historic centre of the Municipality of Pergola, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino. Following the tradition of the first Sundays of the month, the key dates are expected to be October 4, 11, and 18, 2026, within the usual October 5-19 timeframe.
As every year, the event will celebrate the prized white truffle with the Casa del Tartufo in Piazza Ginevri, the food and wine stands along Corso Matteotti and Via Don Minzoni, and the trade fair in Viale Martiri della Libertà , accompanied by show cooking, workshops, exhibitions, and shows. The full programme for the 2026 edition, with times, guests, and appointments, has not yet been released: it will be made available on the official website and the Municipality of Pergola's channels closer to the event.
By car: Pergola is reachable from the SS3 Flaminia with the exit towards the Cesano Valley, or from the A14 motorway (exit Marotta-Mondolfo or Senigallia) continuing towards the hinterland. By train: the nearest station is Fano or Senigallia on the Adriatic line, with onward travel by bus or car to Pergola.
The fair takes place in the historic centre on the Sundays in October, generally from morning until evening. Access to the exhibition area is free; some activities, tastings, and museum visits may incur a cost. It is advisable to consult the official website for the updated programme and precise times.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking around the village, book lunches and tastings in advance on peak days, and combine your visit with the Museum of the Golden Bronzes.
