Three days in Lapio dedicated to Fiano di Avellino DOCG, featuring tasting stations, historic palaces, and live music.
The Fiano Love Fest is the event that the Municipality of Lapio, a small village in the Province of Avellino in Campania, dedicates every summer to Fiano di Avellino DOCG, one of the most prestigious Italian white wines. Lapio is considered one of the historic cradles of this grape variety: its hills, overlooking the Calore valley, produce labels that have built the international reputation of Irpinian winemaking. For three days, the historic center fills with tasting stations, technical tables, food stands, and music, maintaining an intimate, village-scale atmosphere.
Born as a village festival centered around the grape harvest and the work of winemakers, the Fiano Love Fest has become one of the most anticipated events in the Irpinian food and wine calendar. Each edition revolves around a theme that sets the tone for the entire event: in 2025 it was Agricultural Intelligence, dedicated to environmentally friendly farming, while the 2026 edition is built on the theme Vita Lenta Viva (Living Slow Life), a tribute to small towns where time retains a human scale and relationships remain the heart of community life.
The main venue for tastings is Palazzo Filangieri, a historic residence in the village with frescoed halls, restored and returned to public use. This is where the tasting stations for Fiano di Avellino DOCG and the technical tasting tables are held, led by industry associations: in recent years, sessions have been curated by ONAV, the Consortium for the Protection of Irpinian Wines, and AMIRA. The palace remains open for guided tours throughout the evenings, along with the historic churches in the center that house sacred art.
The festival is first and foremost a showcase for local wineries. Lapio companies participate regularly, joined by guest producers from other towns in the Fiano and Taurasi area. Among the participants in recent editions:
Alongside the wine, food and wine stands offer local specialties prepared by restaurateurs, butchers, pastry chefs, and local distilleries. Lapio is not just a land of wine: the municipality also boasts the titles of City of Oil and City of Honey, and these products find their place along the route, together with traditional Irpinian cheeses, cured meats, and desserts.
Every evening, after the tastings, the program continues with live music in the village squares. The wine component is complemented by cultural initiatives curated by local associations, including the Laboratorio Teatrale Lapiano, and landscape discovery proposals: on Sunday mornings, e-bike sharing tours through the vineyards are organized by Land of Hirpinia to explore the hills surrounding Lapio.
The Fiano Love Fest is one of those events that tells the story of a territory better than any guidebook: you drink wine in the exact place where it is born, talk directly with those who produce it, and walk through a village of a few hundred inhabitants that, for three evenings, becomes full of voices again. Admission to the event is free, while tastings and purchases are paid, with formulas designed to make tasting a high-profile DOCG accessible even to those who are not experts.
The Municipality of Lapio, in the province of Avellino, hosts the fifteenth edition of the Fiano Love Fest from August 7 to 9, 2026. The chosen theme, Vita Lenta Viva, pays tribute to small towns where time maintains a human scale and relationships remain the heart of community life: a common thread that runs through tastings, meetings, and cultural proposals.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Lapio together with the Pro Loco Lapiana, Land of Hirpinia, the Laboratorio Teatrale Lapiano, and local associations. The absolute star is the Fiano di Avellino DOCG, presented at the tasting stations set up at Palazzo Filangieri, curated by AMIRA, and at the technical tasting tables conducted by the Consortium for the Protection of Irpinian Wines.
Fifteen wineries animate the edition: ten companies from Lapio and five guest producers from other Irpinian towns. Along the historic center, food stands offer local specialties, while the frescoed halls of the palace and the historic churches remain open for guided tours throughout the evening. Every night, from 9:00 PM, live music accompanies the public until late.
Lapio Wineries: Cinque T, De Joanna, Filadoro, Ioanna, Laura De Vito, Il Sole e il Lupo, Tenuta Scuotto, Terre di Nora, Terra Mia, Trodella.
Guest wineries from other Irpinian towns: Case d'Alto, Macchie Santa Maria, Felice Meoli, Antica Hirpinia, Vigna Ciampa Matteis.
Irpinian specialties offered by Calafiร , Gerarda Ferrante, Il Caminetto by chef Antonio Martignetti, Lucariello, Officina del Gusto, Il Re delle Carni, the Dolcivendolo pastry shop, and the Accio distillery.
At the time of publication, the organizers have not released the names of the artists for the musical evenings.
By car: A16 Naples-Canosa motorway, exit at Avellino Est, then take the SS7 bis Ofantina and provincial roads towards Lapio. From Benevento, you can reach the village through the Calore valley. The historic center is pedestrianized during the festival evenings: parking areas are available nearby.
The reference stations are Avellino and Benevento, connected to the village only by road; a car or private transfer is recommended.
Free admission to the event. Tastings at the stations, technical tables, and purchases of wine and local products are paid. Technical tasting tables require mandatory booking.
E-bike sharing tours: Land of Hirpinia, tel. +39 320 3616149. Guided tours of Palazzo Filangieri: +39 389 1616298 or +39 335 8276548. General information: Municipality of Lapio, tel. +39 0825 982005.
The evenings start at 7:00 PM and continue late into the night: it is worth arriving early for the guided tours of the palace, when the light on the hills is at its best. Wear comfortable shoes, as the village is hilly and explored entirely on foot. For those wishing to stay, farmhouses and wineries with hospitality are widespread between Lapio, Taurasi, and Montefalcione.
