The egg and local food fair at the gates of Turin
Every year, in early June, the small town of Fiano, in the Province of Turin, comes alive for "Fiano ci cova", a fair centered on a simple and symbolic product: the chicken egg, an emblem of Piedmontese farming tradition and animal husbandry. The event takes place in the town's historic center, at the gateway to the regional capital, where the Turin plains give way to the first slopes of the Valli di Lanzo.
Established in 2017, the fair carries on the legacy of the historic "Fèra d'j caplìn", reinterpreting it with a contemporary twist to showcase local produce and traditional crafts. The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Fiano in collaboration with Coldiretti, the Pro Loco, and the Azienda Agricola Fantolino—which raises its animals right here in Fiano—under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin.
The heart of the day is the large zero-kilometer food market: local farmers and producers present and sell cheeses, cured meats, honey, preserves, vegetables, and, of course, fresh eggs. Alongside the farmers' market, "Arte, Mestieri e... Fantasia in Fiera" (Art, Crafts, and... Imagination at the Fair) comes to life, dedicated to artisans, cultural operators, volunteer associations, merchants, and third-sector organizations.
The day is packed with entertainment for all ages:
During "Fiano ci cova," the town also hosts the Preview of the Cantoira Craft Fair, designed to highlight the craftsmanship and excellence of the valleys.
With its market stalls, countryside scents, live music, and activities for children, "Fiano ci cova" is the perfect opportunity to spend an early summer Sunday immersed in the flavors and traditions of Piedmont, just a stone's throw from Turin.
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the historic center of Fiano hosted a new edition of "Fiano ci cova," the fair that celebrates chicken eggs and the products of the land. The event structure was confirmed, organized by the Municipal Administration with Coldiretti, Pro Loco, and Azienda Agricola Fantolino, under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin.
Along the streets and squares of the town, the zero-kilometer food market took place with local producers, accompanied by the initiative for local artisans and associations.
