The festival that lives on the water

Few festivals have such a fitting setting: the Festival on the River in Precenicco takes place in Piazza del Porto, the point where the town meets the waters of the Stella river, in the lower Friuli region, a stone's throw from the Marano lagoon. For several evenings in August, this spot transforms into a grand festive space, filled with music, gastronomy, and river-related traditions.

A rich program for everyone

The event brings together many ingredients: the non-competitive cycling tour along the Stella, charity fishing, dance school performances, a photographic exhibition, concerts, and dancing evenings with live orchestras and bands. To conclude the most important evenings, the unmissable fireworks display over the river, with pasta offered by the Pro Loco at the end of the night.

Traditional cuisine

The food stalls offer the best of Friulian cuisine: frico and polenta, grilled meats, fried calamari and sardines, accompanied by a rich selection of local wines and homemade desserts. A menu that combines land, sea, and river traditions, typical of this corner of Friuli between the countryside and the lagoon.

The heart of the Pro Loco

Organized by the Pro Loco Precenicco with the patronage of the Municipality of Precenicco and UNPLI FVG, the Festa sul Fiume has been one of the most popular summer events in the area for years. It is proof of how a small town can enhance its most characteristic element — the Stella river — transforming it into the protagonist of a great community festival.
