About Fish Festival
A festival that smells of the sea
The Fish Festival is the gastronomic event symbol of Caorle, an ancient fishing village in the province of Venice. It takes place on the Sacheta beach, the stretch of sand adjacent to the sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Angelo, in a unique setting where the lagoon meets the Adriatic.
Adriatic fish takes centre stage
The heart of the festival is the food: fresh fish — fried or grilled — is served with the essential polenta, along with squid, prawns, sardines, and other seafood delicacies. The food stalls and bar kiosks welcome over five hundred people seated directly by the sea.
The 'casoni' and maritime tradition
A 'casone', the typical wooden and reed hut where the fishermen of the Caorle lagoon and their families once lived, is reconstructed on the beach. It is a tribute to the history and identity of a community that has always lived from the sea.
Music and shows
A stage enlivens the evenings with concerts, musical groups, and entertainment, while from the beach it is possible to watch the sailing races that often open the event. The Fish Festival is organized by the Municipality of Caorle together with the Pro Loco, the Beach Consortium, and the Youth Council, with free admission.
Fish Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 Fish Festival takes place on Sacheta beach, near the sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Angelo. A reproduction of a 'casone', the typical wooden and reed hut of the fishermen, is set up on the shore. Visitors will find food stalls, bar kiosks, and tables for over five hundred people; a stage hosts musical events and entertainment groups, while an opening regatta can be watched from the beach.

Saturday, September 12
- From 6:00 PM — Fish cuisine, bar kiosks, and musical entertainment

- From 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM — Lunch service by the sea
- Sailing regatta visible from the beach and closing shows

How to get there
Caorle can be reached by car from the A4 motorway (exit Santo Stino di Livenza or Portogruaro) and then following the signs for the seaside resort. The nearest train station is Portogruaro-Caorle, connected by bus.

Free admission. Evening food service and, on Sundays, also lunch from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
