About Giovani Concertisti

In the village of Castel Rigone, overlooking Lake Trasimeno, a classical music festival comes alive every summer, which for almost thirty years has fostered dialogue between young promises of international concert performance and established artists. In Piazza Sant'Agostino, under the stars, chamber orchestras, string quartets, soloists on violin, cello, clarinet, and piano take turns, in a program ranging from classical to romantic. A high-quality event curated by the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia.

Classical music on Lake Trasimeno

The Festival Internazionale Giovani Concertisti takes place every summer in Castel Rigone, a charming medieval village in the municipality of Passignano sul Trasimeno, in the province of Perugia. The artistic direction is entrusted to the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, which for almost thirty years has brought an international classical music festival to the lake.

Young talents and great performers

The distinctive feature of the festival is the dialogue between generations: alongside young concert performers, competition winners, and new promises on the international scene, established performers also take the stage. The concerts — chamber orchestras, string quartets, violin, cello, clarinet, and piano recitals — feature a repertoire spanning classical and romantic periods, from Beethoven to Brahms, from Schumann to Tchaikovsky, including more original excursions like "Puccini in jazz".

Concerts under the stars in Piazza Sant'Agostino

The setting is Piazza Sant'Agostino, in the heart of Castel Rigone, where summer evenings transform the village into a small temple of music. In case of bad weather, the concerts move to the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima dei Miracoli, a Renaissance jewel of the village. An event that combines the quality of great concert performance with the beauty of the Umbrian landscape of Trasimeno.

Giovani Concertisti — edition 2026

The new edition of the Festival Internazionale Giovani Concertisti brings a series of classical music concerts to Castel Rigone, in Piazza Sant'Agostino, from July 24 to August 18, 2026, featuring chamber orchestras, string quartets, and soloists among young talents and established performers.

The 2026 edition of the festival, under the artistic direction of the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, takes place in Castel Rigone from July 24 to August 18 in Piazza Sant'Agostino. The program alternates young concert performers and established artists in a series of evenings dedicated to classical and romantic music. The opening night on July 24 features the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia and cellist Ettore Pagano; the program continues with string quartets and recitals until the closing concert on August 18, with clarinet, cello, and piano.
