The blues on the lake
The Trasimeno Blues Festival is one of the historic blues festivals in Italy, active since the late eighties. Its formula is that of a travelling festival: the concerts are not concentrated in a single city but touch several municipalities in the Lake Trasimeno area, in the province of Perugia, including Castiglione del Lago, Passignano sul Trasimeno, Tuoro, Panicale, Città della Pieve, Paciano, and Magione.
A stage between history and nature
The festival's strength also lies in its locations: stages are set up in squares, fortresses, and spots overlooking the lake. In Castiglione del Lago, the main concert is held at the Rocca Medievale del Leone, a fortress overlooking the Trasimeno that offers a spectacular setting for the music. The sunset over the lake often accompanies the start of the concerts, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
Great names in blues
Over the years, Trasimeno Blues has hosted major international blues, soul, and roots music artists, alternating established stars with new talents. The programming, organized by Onda Road based in Passignano sul Trasimeno, ranges from electric and acoustic blues to world music and fusions, confirming the festival as a benchmark for genre enthusiasts in Umbria and Italy.
Trasimeno Blues — edition 2026
The 2026 edition runs from July 18 to 26 and confirms the travelling format with around 30 concerts spread across 16 stages in the municipalities of Trasimeno. The opening is in Tuoro (July 18); followed by dates in Castiglione del Lago (July 25, at the Rocca Medievale), Passignano sul Trasimeno (July 27), Magione, Città della Pieve, Paciano, and Panicale.
Among the announced artists are Mannarino, Habib Koité, and Eric Bibb. In Castiglione del Lago, at the Rocca Medievale, John Nemeth is expected.

How to get there
Concerts take place in various municipalities around Lake Trasimeno (PG). Castiglione del Lago, Passignano, and Tuoro are reachable by train on the Florence-Rome line; by car from the Bettolle-Perugia junction.
