Voices, sounds, and culture in the cashmere village of Solomeo
The Festival Villa Solomei takes place in Solomeo, a hamlet of the municipality of Corciano, in the province of Perugia, the medieval village reborn thanks to the humanistic and entrepreneurial project of Brunello Cucinelli. Its squares, the Teatro Cucinelli, and the Amphitheatre provide the backdrop for a music festival that has won an international audience.
The festival was born around the Coro Canticum Novum, founded by the parish priest and director Don Alberto Seri, who passed away in 1997 and to whom the event is dedicated. From that choral experience, an event has grown that today brings together prestigious ensembles, soloists, and voices.
Each edition revolves around a common thread, often a journey through the music of the world. The program alternates between major evening concerts, first performances, moments of sacred music, and events spread throughout the churches and spaces of the village, in dialogue with the spiritual and cultural dimension of Solomeo.
Supported by the community and the Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation, the Festival Villa Solomei has become a benchmark event for the Umbrian music scene, capable of bringing world-famous artists to Corciano in a context of rare harmony between art, landscape, and tradition.
The 27th edition of the Festival Villa Solomei takes place in Solomeo from June 26 to 30, 2026, with a preview on June 21. The theme is "Onde nasce o som. Voices and Sounds from Brazil", a journey through Brazilian music. The program brings major international names to the stage of the Teatro Cucinelli and the Amphitheatre: guitarist and singer Toquinho, cellist Jaques Morelenbaum, guitarist Yamandu Costa, and clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi. Among the highlights is the world premiere of "Dona Nobis Pacem" by composer Dan Forrest, commissioned by the Cucinelli Foundation for the 40th anniversary of the Coro Canticum Novum.
