About Rome Meets the World

At the Nuova Fiera di Roma in the Portuense district, the Festival del Mondo - Rome Meets the World brings together over thirty international festivals across two weekends with a single ticket: Oriental, Japanese, Irish, Scottish, Country, Latin American, Spanish, Argentine, October Festival, martial arts, American motors, and street food from every continent. Spanning over 90,000 square meters of indoor halls and outdoor areas, the event features concerts, dances, traditional ceremonies, workshops, and over forty dining spots. A trip around the world in just a few steps, perfect for the whole family.

A trip around the world at the Fiera di Roma

The Festival del Mondo - Rome Meets the World is now one of Europe's largest intercultural events, held at the Nuova Fiera di Roma, located at Via Portuense 1645 in the southwestern quadrant of Rome, within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the Lazio region. Born as a spin-off of the famous Festival dell'Oriente, the event has progressively expanded to bring together, under one roof and with a single ticket, over thirty simultaneous themed festivals dedicated to cultures from every continent.

The formula is simple and has driven the event's success: visitors don't just walk through a fair; they traverse Asia, the Americas, Celtic Europe, and the Mediterranean in just a few hours, moving from Japanese drums to Scottish bagpipes, and from salsa rhythms to desert atmospheres.

The festivals that make up the event

The exhibition area covers over 90,000 square meters, including indoor pavilions and large outdoor zones, with multiple stages active all day. Among the most popular sections:

  • Festival dell'Oriente — photo exhibitions, bazaars, traditional ceremonies, natural medicine, concerts, and dances from Asian countries;
  • Japan Festival and Expo — reconstructed villages, rituals, cooking demonstrations, and atmospheres inspired by Japanese pop culture;
  • Irish, Celtic, and Scottish Festival — live music, traditional dances, bagpipes, and mythological storytelling;
  • Country Festival and Native American Festival — live bands, western dance lessons, and insights into indigenous cultures;
  • That's America and American Motor Show — vintage cars, stunt shows, monster trucks, football and basketball, with the essential 1960s-style diner;
  • Latin American, Spanish, and Argentine Tango Festival — salsa, bachata, flamenco, milongas, and cooking workshops;
  • October Festival — Bavarian-style beer and gastronomy;
  • One Thousand and One Nights — Middle Eastern music and spice market;
  • Martial Arts Festival — demonstrations and seminars on Eastern and Western disciplines;
  • Health and Wellness, Holi Festival, Games from the World, and areas dedicated to children.

Gastronomy from every continent

The food and wine section is among the richest: over forty themed restaurants and World Street Food stations offer Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Irish, Spanish, and Argentine cuisine, alongside the Sushi Village with chef demonstrations and the international grill area. It is one of the few places in the Capital where you can taste dishes from about twenty different countries in a single day.

Why it's worth visiting

The event is designed for a wide audience: families will find shows, workshops, and games for children; music and dance enthusiasts can follow the stages from morning to night; and collectors and curious visitors can explore the large international bazaar. The duration over two weekends, spanning the April 25th and May 1st holidays, allows visitors to choose the most convenient days or return multiple times with separate tickets.

For Rome, a city that has always been a crossroads of peoples, this event has become a moment of genuine encounter between the many foreign communities living in Lazio, who actively participate in organizing the national areas with associations, chefs, musicians, and artisans.

Rome Meets the World — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Festival del Mondo - Rome Meets the World took place at the Nuova Fiera di Roma over the two weekends of April 24-25-26 and May 1-2-3, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Content was doubled compared to the past, with new pavilions and large outdoor areas for over thirty international festivals united by a single entry ticket.

Six days, two weekends

The 2026 edition occupied the Nuova Fiera di Roma for six total days, spanning the April 25th and May 1st holidays. The organizers doubled the space compared to previous editions, adding new pavilions and expanding outdoor areas to better distribute public flow between the North and East entrances.

Over 90,000 square meters featured concerts, dances, ceremonies, martial arts seminars, American car parades, and gastronomic demonstrations, with more than forty themed restaurants and international street food stations.
