In Neirone, a Municipality in the Metropolitan City of Genoa in the Val Fontanabuona, the patronal festival of San Vittorio is one of the most cherished events of the summer. Over the years, it has become intertwined with a sagra (food festival) dedicated to a key product of Ligurian cuisine: the anchovy, the queen of oily fish.
Three days of celebration
The event takes place over a weekend in July. Friday evening is dedicated to the Beer Festival, a young and convivial occasion. On Saturday and Sunday, the stands of the Sagra dell'Acciuga come to life, offering typical traditional dishes: fried anchovies, fish ravioli, and pansotti, a symbol of Ligurian land cuisine.
Music and community
Every evening, the festival is enlivened by music and dancing, in a cheerful atmosphere that involves the village and visitors from the valley. Organized by the Pro Loco (local tourism board), the Festa di San Vittorio with the Sagra dell'Acciuga is an opportunity to discover the Val Fontanabuona and its traditions, where devotion to the patron saint and the conviviality of good food merge into a single celebration.

For 2026, the Festa di San Vittorio with the Sagra dell'Acciuga will be held again in Neirone in July, following the tradition of taking place over a weekend. The established format includes the Beer Festival on Friday evening and the Sagra dell'Acciuga stands on Saturday and Sunday, with typical Ligurian dishes – fried anchovies, fish ravioli, pansotti – and music every evening.
