Tradition and flavours among the medieval alleyways of Camogli
The Feast of Our Lady of Graces, popularly called Madonna dei Gotti, is one of the traditional events of Camogli, a fishing village in the Golfo Paradiso in the province of Genoa. It is held in October and represents an intimate and rooted moment of celebration, experienced among the medieval alleyways of the historic centre, far from the tourist season.
The protagonists of the festival are the food stalls set up in the narrow streets of the village, where you can taste dishes of maritime and Ligurian tradition. The atmosphere of the alleyways, with the tall colourful houses huddled around the narrow streets, makes this festival particularly evocative and authentic, an opportunity to experience Camogli in its most genuine dimension.
Recognized as an Authentic Ligurian Event, the Madonna dei Gotti is a festival deeply felt by the community of Camogli, which combines religious devotion to Our Lady of Graces with the conviviality of the stalls and the village festival. It is an event that tells the identity of the village beyond the postcard image of summer.
Visiting Camogli for this festival means discovering the village in a more intimate and authentic guise, when the alleyways once again become the heart of community life. An ideal stop for those seeking the true traditions of the Riviera di Levante, amidst faith, flavours, and atmosphere.
