The Fiera di San Fermo is the patronal festival of Gorreto, a small village in the upper Val Trebbia, in the province of Genoa, bordering Piacenza. It is held in August and represents one of the most important events of the year for the local community.

Between devotion and tradition

The day begins with Holy Mass in the church of Santa Caterina da Siena, in honour of the patron saint. The religious dimension then blends with the festive one, with an aperitif in the piazza and moments of gathering that liven up the village.

The fair of typical products

The civil heart of the festival is the Fiera di San Fermo, with stalls featuring typical products from Val Trebbia: an opportunity to discover and purchase the gastronomic and artisanal specialities of the valley. Among the most characteristic attractions are the chainsaw sculptures created live by artist Fabio Pini, who transforms wood into works of art.
