The patronal festival of Val Fontanabuona, with procession, gastronomy, and music
The Festa di Sant'Antonio da Padova is the most important event of the year for Coreglia Ligure, a small municipality in the Val Fontanabuona within the Metropolitan City of Genoa. As confirmed by the Municipality itself, the celebration takes place every year on the second Sunday of June, involving the entire community in a moment of devotion and festivity.
The heart of the festival is the solemn procession on Sunday, which winds through the village in honor of the saint, greatly venerated in Ligurian popular tradition. The religious dimension, with celebrations in church, remains central and accompanies the festivities.
Alongside the religious rites, the festival offers some evenings at the sports field with food stalls and music, convivial moments that bring together the inhabitants of Coreglia and visitors from neighboring municipalities. The Festa di Sant'Antonio da Padova is an authentic example of the patronal festivals that characterize the villages of Val Fontanabuona, where tradition is passed down from generation to generation.
The 2026 edition of the patronal festival falls on June 7, in line with the tradition that sets it on the second Sunday of the month. The main day includes the procession in honor of Saint Anthony, accompanied by convivial evenings at the village's sports field.
