Toma di Gressoney is one of the most representative cheeses of the upper Valle del Lys: a prized table cheese, made directly on the mountain pastures using traditional methods passed down through generations. The community of Gressoney-Saint-Jean, a Walser village at the foot of Monte Rosa, dedicates an annual festival to this iconic product, celebrating its history and flavour.

The Festa della Toma takes place in the heart of the historic centre, at Obre Platz, and offers a programme focused on taste and local culture:

Part of the Advent season calendar, usually on the Immaculate Conception weekend, the Festa della Toma combines gastronomy with Christmas: the tree lighting, decorations, and market create a festive backdrop for a celebration that highlights the dairy excellence of the Valle del Lys, in the province of Aosta.
