A Walser Christmas at the Foot of Monte Rosa

The name — Wiehnacht Märt, meaning "Christmas market" in the Walser dialect of Gressoney — already tells the story of this event: a German-speaking market nestled among the stone and wood houses of the upper Lys Valley, in one of the most characteristic villages of the Aosta Valley. For several weeks, Piazza Tache, the heart of Gressoney-La-Trinité, transforms into the village's Christmas living room.

Every Saturday Until Epiphany

The market takes place every Saturday, from late November to early January, with stalls open in the afternoon. You can find creations by local artisans and agri-food products from the Aosta Valley, authentic gift ideas for the holidays.

The event concludes in early January with the arrival of La Befana (the Epiphany witch), who closes the long festive period.
