The ultimate summer festival in Morrona, featuring Tuscan cuisine, Colline Pisane wines, and free live concerts.
The Festa dell'Allegria is one of the most beloved local festivals in the Pisan hinterland. It takes place in Morrona, a picturesque little village within the municipality of Terricciola, nestled in the heart of the Colline Pisane in Tuscany. Established in the late 1990s by the local community, the festival has grown year after year, becoming a summer staple that draws visitors from across the province of Pisa and beyond.
For an entire weekend, the village of Morrona transforms into a vibrant meeting place. The evenings are filled with music, delicious aromas, and chatter, while Piazza Alessandro da Morrona serves as the natural stage for live concerts. The atmosphere is that of an authentic Tuscan village fair: simple, welcoming, and deeply rooted in local traditions.
The heart of the event is the gastronomic area, dedicated to traditional Tuscan cuisine. Every eveningโand also at lunchtime on Sundayโthe stalls serve seasonal dishes prepared the old-fashioned way: handmade pasta by the women of Morrona, grilled meats, and local specialties. These are paired with Colline Pisane wines, promoted by the producers of the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori delle Colline Pisane and the TerricciolaWINE project. The food area is fully accessible and barrier-free.
Every evening, Piazza Alessandro da Morrona hosts free concerts featuring live artists, DJ sets, and a musical range spanning from singer-songwriter sets to folk, instrumental rock, and dance music. Sunday afternoon is dedicated to families and children, featuring traditional wooden games crafted by Geppetto and entertainment throughout the village streets.
Organized by the Circolo ARCI I Lecci in collaboration with the Associazione Lombelico, and supported by the Province of Pisa and the Municipality of Terricciola, the Festa dell'Allegria is entirely powered by local volunteers. Admission to all shows is free: it is the perfect opportunity to discover Morrona, savor the most authentic side of Tuscany, and spend delightful evenings under the stars of the Colline Pisane.
The 30th edition of the Festa dell'Allegria was held in Morrona (Terricciola) from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 2026. Three evenings dedicated to traditional Tuscan cuisine and Colline Pisane wines, with free concerts every night in Piazza Alessandro da Morrona and traditional wooden games on Sunday afternoon.
