Regional products, artisanal specialties, and live music in the square of Tires al Catinaccio
The Farmers' Market in the village square is one of the most cherished summer traditions in Tires al Catinaccio (Tiers am Rosengarten), a small municipality in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, located in the Alpe di Siusi area of Trentino-South Tyrol. On summer evenings, the Dorfplatz, the town's central square, transforms into a vibrant meeting point where local producers showcase the very best of their land.
The stalls offer a rich variety of fresh regional products and handmade artisanal specialties: seasonal fruit and vegetables, alpine cheeses, bread, traditional pastries, preserves, mountain herbs, and small local crafts. There is also a wide range of food options, with typical South Tyrolean delicacies to enjoy on the spot, making the market a perfect excuse for a delicious open-air break.
The market is accompanied by live music, creating a festive and convivial atmosphere in the square. Between browsing the stalls, residents and visitors alike pause to listen, chat, and savor local flavors against the stunning backdrop of the Catinaccio (Rosengarten) peaks.
The farmers' market takes place several times throughout the summer season, running from late afternoon into the early evening. It is organized by the Tires al Catinaccio Tourist Association (Tourismusverein Tiers am Rosengarten) and is part of a calendar of events that celebrate the rural identity and traditions of the village. Admission is free, and the event is designed for the whole family.
Situated at the foot of the Catinaccio massif, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Dolomites, Tires al Catinaccio is a mountain village that maintains a deep connection to farming life and local traditions. The market in the square is the ideal opportunity to discover the authenticity of this community and its genuine products during a holiday in South Tyrol.
In the summer of 2026, the village square of Tires al Catinaccio will once again host the farmers' market with live music. The Tires al Catinaccio Tourist Association has confirmed the event will take place on summer evenings, with dates set for Friday, July 9 and Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The Dorfplatz will feature stalls with fresh regional products and handmade artisanal specialties, accompanied by a culinary selection of typical South Tyrolean dishes. Live music will provide the backdrop for the event, which remains a convivial, free-entry occasion in the heart of the Dolomites.
