The enchanted Christmas forest at the Riva Waterfalls, in the Ahrntal valley
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Taufrer Advent—or Campo Tures Advent—is one of the most evocative Christmas events in the Ahrntal valley, located in the municipality of Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers, in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol), Trentino-Alto Adige region. Unlike traditional markets held in town squares, this Advent celebration takes the form of an authentic enchanted Christmas forest (Weihnachtszauberwald) stretching along the trail of the famous Riva Waterfalls (Reinbach-Wasserfälle), near the village of Bad Winkel.
Walking along the illuminated path that leads up to the first waterfall, visitors discover a succession of decorated wooden huts, warm lights, and charming displays. Fires crackle romantically, Christmas music resonates among the tree trunks, and the aroma of mulled wine follows every step. It is an experience designed for families and those seeking a Christmas getaway away from the crowds, immersed in the nature of the South Tyrolean mountains.
Admission to the Taufrer Advent is free, and no reservation is required: the forest is open to everyone. The only activity requiring payment is the carriage ride. Each Advent weekend offers its own unique program, running in the afternoon, providing a different atmosphere from the first weekend right through to the days following Christmas.
The Taufrer Advent combines South Tyrolean Christmas tradition with the charm of an exceptional natural landscape. The Riva Waterfalls, a local natural monument, provide the backdrop for an event that highlights local craftsmanship, typical products, and the warm hospitality of Campo Tures, a village dominated by the imposing Taufers Castle. It is an ideal destination to experience an authentic and romantic Advent in South Tyrol.
The Taufrer Advent 2026 will once again bring the famous enchanted Christmas forest along the Riva Waterfalls trail to Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers in the Ahrntal valley.
