A widespread festival that climbs the mountains

Among the many initiatives of Famiglia sei Granda, the major widespread family festival organized every spring by the Forum of Family Associations of the province of Cuneo, the Montemale di Cuneo stage holds a special place. While other events enliven the urban centers of Bra, Fossano, Alba, and Busca, this event chooses the mountain tranquility of Borgata Liretta, a small hamlet over a thousand meters above sea level in the municipality of Montemale, surrounded by the chestnut and beech forests of Valle Grana.

The Mechanics of the Couple

The meeting that gives the day its title, The Mechanics of the Couple. Investment: installments? cash?, is led by Nicoletta and Davide Oreglia. This is not a simple lecture, but a true 'overhaul' of family life: experiences and dialogues aimed at parents and children, proposed in separate sessions and then shared together. The Montemale appointment is part of a broader cycle that will continue until autumn, confirming how the theme of couple relationships and parenting is at the heart of the project.

Lunch in the village

The convivial heart of the day is the lunch prepared directly by the village hosts, Mario and Olga, who welcome participants to their guesthouse in Borgata Liretta. It is an opportunity to experience the authentic hospitality of the Cuneo mountains, sharing a table and continuing the dialogues started during the meetings. Participation in the lunch requires a reservation.

Famiglia sei Granda in the territory

The festival was born around the International Day of Families on May 15th and brings together dozens of associations from the Cuneo area — from ACLI to Catholic Action, from youth movements to volunteer groups. Each edition offers a dozen free initiatives open to everyone, located in several municipalities of the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont: conferences, workshops for children, intercultural festivals, tree plantings, and moments of reflection on the role of the family. The Montemale stage represents the most intimate and mountainous soul of this mosaic.
