The new indie music festival regenerating Foggia
The FAFAFEST – Fare la Città Music Festival is one of the most defining events of the summer in Foggia, the capital of the Capitanata region in Apulia. Born as a territorial and cultural regeneration project aimed at young people, the festival is promoted by the Generact APS association and uses music as a catalyst for active participation in city life: hence the name, where "Fafa" evokes the very idea of making the city (fare la città).
The heart of FAFAFEST is the new Italian indie and singer-songwriter scene: the festival provides a platform for young, up-and-coming artists, betting on emerging talent before they become household names. Each edition features some of the most interesting voices in the indie landscape, offering the Foggia public concerts that rarely reach the provinces. The formula combines live music with workshops, book presentations, and social gatherings, in a project that thrives year-round and culminates in the summer event.
FAFAFEST has no fixed home: it chooses different locations to inhabit each time. Previous editions have taken place at Parco Iconavetere and the CineTeatro Cicolella, while in 2026 the festival arrives at Slow Park, the new civic space on Via Manfredi, adjacent to the Intermodal Hub, designed to return a place of meeting, social relationships, and local excellence to the community.
In 2026, FAFAFEST is part of the Foggia Estate 2026 program, the cultural event series promoted by the Municipal Administration (Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo, Councilor for Culture Alice Amatore) that accompanies the city from June to mid-September, spanning both the center and the suburbs. The festival is set to close the summer at Slow Park with two consecutive days dedicated to music and social interaction.
