The Erchie Summer Festival is the summer event series that transforms Erchie—a small town in the province of Brindisi, in the heart of Salento—into a widespread stage every year during June and July. Squares, wide streets, the historic center, and outdoor spaces host a packed calendar of events for all ages for several weeks, ranging from live music to theater, cinema, and evenings dedicated to the younger generation.
A festival promoted by the Municipality
The program is conceived and coordinated by the Department of Culture and Entertainment of the Municipality of Erchie, which officially approves the event calendar each year. The stated goal is twofold: to showcase the beauty of the territory and to promote social interaction within the local community by offering free, high-quality meeting opportunities during the hottest months. Numerous local associations work alongside the Municipality, enlivening individual evenings with diverse proposals.
Music, theater, and cinema under the stars
The Erchie Summer Festival program blends very different genres and experiences:
- Live music: evenings featuring local bands, tributes to the greatest artists of Italian music, and events dedicated to young people with DJ sets and guest performers;
- Theater and comedy: performances in local dialect and comedy shows staged in the main squares;
- Open-air cinema: free evening screenings along the streets of the center;
- Culture and memory: tributes to local poets and figures, social gatherings, and charity initiatives;
- Sport and nature: tournaments, memorial events, and walks in the area, such as the night cycling tour towards the Grotta dell'Annunziata.
An appointment for the whole community
Almost all Erchie Summer Festival events are free of charge and take place outdoors in the heart of the town. Over the years, the festival has become a landmark of the Salento summer, capable of attracting not only the inhabitants of Erchie but also visitors from neighboring towns in the province of Brindisi, in an area where tradition, folk music, and conviviality remain at the center of village life. Its most famous event remains La Notte Ercolana, the white night that fills the historic center with music, street art, and local flavors.

Erchie Summer Festival 2026
The 2026 calendar of the Erchie Summer Festival was officially approved by the Municipality of Erchie and runs from June 13 to July 31. A rich program, distributed across the squares and streets of the historic center, alternating between major crowd-pulling evenings and community events.
Among the scheduled events, highlights include ErchieLand (June 27, Largo Calvario, free admission) with Paolo Noise and Wender from Zoo di 105, DJ sets, and a play area for children, organized by the APS Contro Cultura with the patronage of the Municipality, and the Vasco Rossi tribute concert Fronte del Blasco (July 18). There is also comedy theater, open-air cinema, the karaoke evening in memory of Antonio Carbone at Parco delle Rimembranze (June 13), and the night cycling tour towards the Grotta dell'Annunziata (July 31).

By car: Erchie can be reached via the SS7 ter and provincial roads connecting Mesagne, Oria, and Torre Santa Susanna; it is approximately 40 km from Brindisi. By train: the nearest stations are Mesagne and Oria, on the regional network. Nearest airport: Brindisi-Casale.
