The literary festival of the Municipality of Trepuzzi, in the heart of Salento
"Reading to Live. Author Dialogues" is the literary festival promoted by the municipal administration of Trepuzzi, a town in the province of Lecce, in the heart of Salento and Puglia. Created with the goal of bringing citizens closer to reading and the exchange of ideas, the festival has established itself over the years as one of the most vibrant cultural events in the area, capable of bringing prominent national authors and voices to a small town.
The format is simple and successful: not a single evening, but a widespread calendar of meetings that spans the entire year, from February until autumn. Each event is a dialogue between the author and a moderator—journalists, professors, or figures from Salento's cultural scene—designed to highlight the book and the questions it explores.
The meetings are held in various spaces throughout the city, which become stages for culture:
The festival is conceived and curated by Giacomo Fronzi, municipal councilor with responsibility for Cultural Policies, in collaboration with local entities such as the Libreria Palmieri and the association "Diffondiamo idee di valore". The themes addressed are intentionally broad: from literature to journalism, from contemporary history to international politics, from philosophy to spirituality. It is this variety that makes "Reading to Live" a true laboratory of cultural citizenship, where the book serves as a starting point to question the present.
Over the years, the festival has hosted writers, television journalists, and essayists known to the general public, confirming that even a town like Trepuzzi can become a crossroads of thought. Admission to all meetings is free and open to the public, consistent with the popular and inclusive vocation of the project.
The 10th edition of "Reading to Live. Author Dialogues" marks an important milestone for the literary festival of the Municipality of Trepuzzi. The widespread format throughout the year is confirmed, with meetings moving from the municipal library to the squares of the Salento town during the summer. Curated by Giacomo Fronzi, the 2026 edition alternates big names in journalism and non-fiction with voices from the world of culture and spirituality, with free and open admission.
The festival continues with further events during the summer months, outdoors in Largo Chiesa Madre, and in the autumn until October. The complete calendar and guest names are announced progressively on the Municipality of Trepuzzi's channels.
The meetings take place in Trepuzzi (LE), mainly at the Bibliò – "Nicola Carducci" Community Library on Via Guglielmo Pepe 27; in summer, they are also held in Largo Chiesa Madre and at the Maria SS. Assunta Parish (Corso Umberto I).
Trepuzzi is located a few kilometers north of Lecce, along the road to Brindisi. By train, the Trepuzzi station is served by the Lecce–Brindisi line; by car, take the exit from the SS613 Lecce–Brindisi highway. The nearest airport is Brindisi-Casale.
All events are free and open to the public, subject to availability.
