Entorn Vich: Ladin Traditions and Flavours is one of the most anticipated summer events in Vigo di Fassa, a village in the municipality of San Giovanni di Fassa-Sèn Jan, in the province of Trento, nestled in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. As the sun dips behind the Dolomites and the village streets light up with warmth, scents, and smiles, the historic centre becomes a gourmet trail filled with encounters, flavours, and shared moments. The name, in the Ladin language, means "around Vich"—the village's ancient name—and perfectly captures the spirit of the evening: a slow, convivial stroll from one stop to the next.

The flavours of Ladin cuisine

Starting at 7:30 PM, gourmet stations set up by local volunteers and hotel chefs line the streets of the centre. At each stop, you can sample the finest specialities prepared with local ingredients, authentic expressions of the Fassa tradition:

• Alpine cheeses and mountain cured meats
• Carne salada, one of the iconic dishes of Trentino
• Barley soup, warm and hearty as per alpine tradition
• Canederli with cheese and polenta with sausage and sauerkraut
• Traditional desserts such as apple strudel and wild berry yogurt

The evening is made even more special by excellent drinks: Trentino wines selected by the Consorzio Cembrani DOC, organic juices, syrups, and artisanal grappas by Cianeva de la Sgnapa.

Music, dance, and ancient crafts

Entorn Vich is more than just gastronomy: the summer programme offers a rich schedule of concerts, folk group performances, and re-enactments of ancient crafts featuring local artists and artisans. Along the route, you will find demonstrations of historical trades, live music, and activities for the whole family, all in an atmosphere that celebrates the Ladin identity of the Val di Fassa.

A local event

The event is organised by the Comitato Manifestazioni Vich Events, in collaboration with the Consorzio Cembrani DOC and local producers, with a special focus on environmental sustainability and the promotion of short supply chains. Access to the village is free; tickets are only required for the gourmet trail. In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.
