The festival that bids farewell to summer in the historic center of Lettomanoppello
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The End of Summer Festival is a popular, free event held in the historic center of Lettomanoppello, a small town in the Province of Pescara, Abruzzo. Launched a few years ago by a group of local youth in collaboration with the municipality and the Youth City Council, the event has grown rapidly to become the go-to celebration for bidding farewell to the season in late August, before the return to daily life.
Lettomanoppello is known as the Little Carrara of Abruzzo, the town of stonecutters, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of working the white stone of the Maiella. Nestled within the Maiella National Park, the village preserves fountains, portals, and sculptures that tell the story of these master stone artisans. It is in this setting, among the alleys and small squares of the historic center, that the End of Summer Festival comes to life, uniting generations.
The festival begins in the afternoon with entertainment and games designed especially for children and teenagers, before transforming into an evening of music and fun. Highlights from previous editions include:
The highlight is the "End of Summer Fire", the fireworks display that concludes the evening, illuminating the sky above the Abruzzo village and symbolically bidding farewell to summer. A tradition that is still young but already deeply felt by the Lettomanoppello community.
With free admission and no booking required, the End of Summer Festival is designed to welcome families, young people, residents, and visitors from neighboring towns. It represents a wonderful example of a grassroots community festival, capable of showcasing the historic center of Lettomanoppello and strengthening the bonds of this small community in the Pescara hinterland.
The End of Summer Festival returns to Lettomanoppello in the summer of 2026. At the moment, dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the municipality and the group of young people organizing the event. Based on previous editions, the festival typically takes place in late August in the historic center of the town, with afternoon entertainment, live music, DJ sets, a foam party, a market, food stands, and a final fireworks show. This page will be updated with dates and details as soon as they become available.
Lettomanoppello is located in the hinterland of the Province of Pescara, in Abruzzo, at the foot of the Maiella. By car, it can be reached via the A25 motorway (Scafa-Alanno exit), continuing toward the village; from Pescara, follow the road toward Scafa and Manoppello. The festival takes place in the town's historic center.
Admission is free and open to all, with no booking required.
As this is an evening event featuring a fireworks display, we recommend arriving early to find parking in the village and to enjoy the afternoon entertainment. Food stands and food trucks are available for dining on-site.
