Emilia Romagna Perlage – Sparkling Wines at the Palace is the event that annually transforms Piazzale della Rosa, in the heart of Sassuolo (province of Modena), into a sophisticated wine lounge dedicated exclusively to the region's sparkling wines. Founded in 2013 with the aim of highlighting the best oenological expressions of the region, the event is now a benchmark for Emilia-Romagna sparkling wine enthusiasts.
Over 60 Labels from More Than 20 Producers
The heart of the event lies in the tasting counters: over 60 labels offered by more than 20 producers, all strictly committed to the production and sparkling winemaking of grapes grown in Emilia-Romagna. From refermented Lambrusco to classic method and Charmat sparkling wines, from Modena's bubbles to those from Romagna, visitors can create their own tasting journey, moving between the stands and engaging directly with the winemakers and O.N.A.V. tasters.
Masterclasses in the Sala Biasin
Alongside free tasting, the program features a series of masterclasses led by expert tasters: true in-depth sessions exploring the diverse facets of Emilia-Romagna's sparkling wines. The guided tours range from the history of Italian sparkling wine to a comparison between Lambrusco and Champagne, including a focus on Romagna's productions.
An Exceptional Setting
The location is one of the event's strong points: Piazzale della Rosa opens directly in front of the majestic Ducal Palace of Sassuolo, one of the most important Este residences, which provides a spectacular backdrop for the evenings. Tasting sparkling wines at sunset, with the palace's illuminated facade in the background, is an experience that combines food and wine, culture, and landscape.
Organized By
The event is organized by the O.N.A.V. delegation of Modena (National Organization of Wine Tasters) in collaboration with CTG Sassuolo and with the patronage of the Municipality of Sassuolo. A team effort that, edition after edition, showcases and promotes the culture of Emilia-Romagna's sparkling wines.

The eighth edition of Emilia Romagna Perlage – Sparkling Wines at the Palace enlivened Piazzale della Rosa in Sassuolo during the weekend of June 6 and 7, 2026. Once again this year, the protagonists were sparkling wines produced exclusively from grapes grown in Emilia-Romagna, with over 60 labels and more than 20 producers at the tasting counters, alongside tasters from O.N.A.V. Modena.

Saturday, June 6
- 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM — Tasting counters open in Piazzale della Rosa: over 60 labels from more than 20 Emilia-Romagna producers.
- 6:00 PM — Masterclass "Spumantem Pateram" (Sala Biasin): a journey into the history of Italian sparkling wine, discovering how bubbles were consumed in Italy a thousand years before Dom Pérignon.
- 7:30 PM — Masterclass "Lambrusco & Champagne" (Sala Biasin): a comparative tasting between Lambrusco and Champagne.
Sunday, June 7
- 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM — Tasting counters open in Piazzale della Rosa.
- 6:00 PM — Masterclass "Romagna Sparkling Wines" (Sala Biasin): a focus on the sparkling productions of Romagna.

Location

Getting There
Sassuolo is easily reachable by car from the A1 motorway (Modena Sud exit) and the Modena ring road. By train, it is connected to Modena by the suburban railway line. Several parking lots are available in the historic center a short distance from the Ducal Palace.
Tickets
Entry with tasting: €20 for the public; €15 for members of trade associations (ONAV, CTG, AIS, FISAR, ASPI, Slow Food); €12 for ONAV members with online pre-sale. Masterclasses have an additional cost (€10 each) with registration at www.onav.it, via email at [email protected], or on-site.
