Traveling showcase of experimental music and performing arts in the landscapes of Romagna
Born in 2020 and curated by the cultural association MAGMA, Elementi is a traveling showcase dedicated to contemporary arts that intertwines experimental music, performance, and visual arts. Its hallmark is site-specific: each event is created for a specific location and enhances its natural characteristics, from salt dunes to pine forests, from lagoon islands to disused industrial architectures. The result is a low-environmental-impact journey through Romagna, transforming unexpected spaces into open-air concert halls.
Among the participating municipalities, Cervia (Province of Ravenna) plays a central role thanks to the Aia Parco della Salina, located on Via Salara Provinciale: here, at sunset, the audience experiences immersive concerts designed to dialogue with the silence and light of the salt pan. In addition to the evenings at the Salina, there are events at the Circolo Kayak in Milano Marittima, with canoe tours through the pine forest and wetlands, and the summer exhibition hosted at the Magazzino del Sale in the heart of the city.
The programming focuses on international artists from the experimental scene: percussion and gamelan ensembles, voices blending R&B and lo-fi, sound practices combining listening and slow mobility. It's not a lineup of big pop names, but an invitation to experience the Romagna landscape with a different focus, where sound becomes a tool to rediscover places.
In addition to Cervia, Elementi touches Ravenna, Faenza, Bagnacavallo, Forlimpopoli, Lugo, and Gambettola, weaving together the Municipalities of Romagna into a single cultural map. Admission is free upon reservation, a choice consistent with the intimate and secluded nature of the locations, often with limited capacity. For those seeking a cultural experience outside the usual circuits, it is one of the most original events of the Emilia-Romagna summer.
The seventh edition of Elementi takes place from May 10 to July 31, 2026, curated by MAGMA, and spans Romagna with events in Forlimpopoli, Cervia, Ravenna, Bagnacavallo, Faenza, Lugo, and Gambettola. The common thread remains sound and performance experimentation in dialogue with natural landscapes and regional architectures. In Cervia, the festival concentrates three days between the salt pan and the pine forest, accompanied by the contemporary art exhibition Endless Summer at the Magazzino del Sale.
The most anticipated moments in Cervia are the two sunset concerts at the Aia della Salina: NIST-NAH Ensemble on May 30 and the voice of Ugnฤ Uma on July 26. Also not to be missed is the kayak tour with Bear Bones Lay Low on July 19.
The Aia Parco della Salina is located at Via Salara Provinciale 6 in Cervia (RA), near the Salt Pans. By car, it can be reached from the Cesena exit of the A14 motorway or from the SS16 Adriatica. By train, Cervia-Milano Marittima station is served by the Adriatic line; other events are distributed among Ravenna, Faenza, Bagnacavallo, Forlimpopoli, Lugo, and Gambettola.
All events are free admission upon reservation. It is necessary to book via email at [email protected], indicating the chosen event. Places are limited due to the site-specific nature of the locations.
Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for natural terrain (salt pans, pine forests, dirt paths) are recommended. For sunset concerts, bring insect repellent. Info and updates: www.magma.zone, Instagram and Facebook @elementi.zone.
