An electronic festival at the foot of Mount Etna

The Efìmera Snow Tour: Etna Festival in its December edition is one of the most original events in the Sicilian music scene. It takes place in Maletto, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Catania, within the Pizzo Filicia Suburban Park, on the north-western slope of Mount Etna. Here, when the volcano is covered in snow, electronic music meets a spectacular and untouched mountain landscape.

The Efìmera format

The event is conceived by the Efìmera Dance Room collective, founded in Catania in 2021 by Simone Santagati and Luca Ruscifina. The project was born to promote the Sicilian territory through music: DJ sets and live shows are hosted and broadcast from unusual and fascinating locations, from the Villa Bellini in Catania to the slopes of Mount Etna. The "Snow Tour" is the winter version of this sonic journey, designed to help people discover the mountains in a completely new way.

A full day of music and nature

The festival runs for the entire day, from late morning until sunset, with a long sequence of artists taking turns at the console. Surrounding the music is a program of outdoor activities that are an integral part of the experience:

• Equipped picnic areas, with the option to bring your own lunch
• Food and refreshment points inside the park
• Trekking trails and woodland walks
• Slackline and recreational activities
• Market and workshops

Access is exclusively by online ticket reservation, with a QR code to be shown at the entrance: there is no on-site box office and spots are limited. To facilitate participation, the organization provides a shuttle service departing from Catania and various stations across Sicily.

An event rooted in the territory

The Efìmera Snow Tour has received the patronage of the Municipality of Maletto and the Department of Culture of the Sicilian Region, confirming the bond between the event and the local community. The first winter stage, in December 2024, attracted approximately 12,000 people from all over the island, turning this corner of Etna into a landmark for electronic music and nature enthusiasts.
