The Easter Monday Walk is one of the most anticipated events in the spring calendar of Cantarana, a small town of just over a thousand inhabitants nestled in the hills of the Province of Asti, in the heart of Piedmont. Carefully organized by the Cantarana Pro Loco with the patronage of UNPLI Piemonte, the event takes place every year on Easter Monday, when tradition calls for heading outdoors to share a day in good company.

A gourmet walk through the hills

The heart of the event is a gourmet walk of about 10 kilometers that winds along paths and roads, partly paved and partly dirt, surrounding the village. The route crosses woods and vineyards, offering sweeping views of the rolling Monferrato hills. This is no ordinary hike: along the way, various gourmet stops are set up where walkers can pause to enjoy specialties prepared by Pro Loco volunteers.

The gastronomic stops

The menu accompanies participants from the beginning to the end of the walk, with a rhythm that alternates movement and conviviality:

• Water and wine included throughout the journey

All for a modest cost of about 25 euros per person, lunch included, making it an accessible proposal highly appreciated by families.

The walk is designed to be enjoyed in company: the route is suitable for families, groups of friends, and even four-legged companions. In the afternoon, upon returning, the party continues at the Pro Loco headquarters with musical entertainment, games, and social moments. In case of bad weather, a covered shelter is available, ensuring the event can take place in any condition.

Now in its thirty-second edition, the Easter Monday Walk has become a symbol of Cantarana's community vitality and an opportunity to showcase the hilly territory of the Asti area.
