Crafts, music, and family workshops in the historic village of Sgurgola
The Easter Market – Spring Market is the Easter highlight of Sgurgola, a small village perched in the Monti Lepini mountains in the province of Frosinone, Southern Lazio. For one day, the historic center transforms into a lively path of stalls and entertainment: alleys and small squares host exhibitors of handicrafts, vintage and second-hand items, local products, and a food area, while music and performances fill the day from morning until evening.
Launched in 2025 by the Pro Loco Sgurgola, the Easter Market reached its second edition in 2026, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated spring events in the area between Anagni and the Monti Lepini. The first edition focused heavily on the theme of sustainability, featuring creative recycling workshops and natural egg-dyeing; the formula has since consolidated around three key ingredients: the market, children's entertainment, and street art.
The family-oriented vocation is the event's hallmark: every edition offers creative workshops for children led by entertainers and manual arts experts, bouncy castles, and shows designed for the little ones, such as giant soap bubbles or street pantomime. It is a way for children to experience the village while parents browse the stalls.
The day is accompanied by buskers, street musicians performing Italian and international hits throughout the day, and pantomime and street art performances that animate the squares and corners of the historic center. The cultural dimension is also present: the program includes a guided historical tour through the alleys, an opportunity to discover the history and architecture of the medieval village of Sgurgola.
With the Easter Market, the Municipality of Sgurgola and the Pro Loco aim to promote the historic center and attract visitors to the town at the start of the warm season, following the Italian tradition of village markets. The Lazio Region is rich in spring festivals and fairs, but the Easter Market stands out for its blend of crafts, sustainability, and family entertainment in an authentic village setting, less than an hour from Rome and a stone's throw from Anagni, the city of the popes.
The second edition of the Easter Market – Spring Market took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the historic center of Sgurgola, organized by the Pro Loco. The village was transformed into a lively path of crafts, second-hand, vintage, and local product stalls, with a food area and entertainment spaces for all ages.
The day opened at 10 am with the market and bouncy castles for children, followed by two creative workshops led by Loredana Nereggi and Alina Veronica Stiefel. Buskers enlivened the town with Italian and international music at noon and at the end of the day, while in the afternoon, visitors were able to participate in the historical tour through the alleys and watch the pantomime and street art show "Mima e la valigia nel sogno". Exhibitor applications remained open until March 15, 2026.
