Artisan stalls, mulled wine, and a lively tombola in Piazza dei Leoni

In Colli di Sezze, in the province of Latina, Christmas arrives with a staple of the winter calendar: the Christmas Market in Piazza dei Leoni, organized by the Comitato Colli together with the ASD Polisportiva Colli. The date is a traditional one, December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, when the neighborhood square comes alive from 10 am to 9 pm with stalls, lights, Christmas music, and winter scents.
For an entire day, Piazza dei Leoni becomes a small Christmas village: among the stalls and Tyrolean-style displays, you can find decorative home items, wreaths and centerpieces, artisan nativity scenes, tree ornaments, and personalized gift ideas. It is a family-friendly market where you can stroll at your leisure, chat with the vendors, and soak up the authentic atmosphere of a local village festival.
One of the event's hallmarks is the presence of creations made by the volunteers of the «Colli Insieme» workshop: original handmade items, born from months of shared work, which are displayed in the square from the morning. It is the most communal soul of the market, distinguishing it from large commercial events and linking it deeply to the life of the neighborhood.
There is no shortage of cold-weather treats: roasted chestnuts and mulled wine accompany visitors throughout the day, while Christmas music provides the soundtrack among the stalls. It is a simple and convivial way to warm up and spend time together, in the most genuine spirit of a provincial Christmas.
The grand finale is at 6:30 pm, when the traditional lighthearted tombola is played in the square: a moment of pure community fun, filled with laughter, numbers called out loudly, and small symbolic prizes. It is the most anticipated appointment of the day, capable of bringing entire families and different generations together around the same game.
The Colli market is part of the festive atmosphere that involves the whole city every December thanks to the «Natale Setino» program, promoted by the Municipality of Sezze with the support of the Lazio Region: weeks of shows, concerts, markets, and activities for children that enliven the historic center and the neighborhoods. Sezze, one of the oldest centers in the Lepini Mountains, with its village overlooking the Pontine Plain, thus offers an extra opportunity to discover the most authentic side of Christmas in southern Lazio.
At the moment, the organizers have not yet made the 2026 edition of the Colli di Sezze Christmas Market official. Based on tradition, the event is expected for December 8th, 2026, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, in Piazza dei Leoni, with the usual format: artisan stalls and Tyrolean-style displays from the morning, creations from the «Colli Insieme» workshop, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, Christmas music, and the evening tombola. We will update this page as soon as the Comitato Colli and the ASD Polisportiva Colli release the confirmation and the detailed program.
Sezze can be reached by car via the SS156 of the Lepini Mountains, about twenty minutes from Latina and an hour and a half from Rome. By train, the reference station is Sezze Romano, on the Rome-Formia-Naples line, connected to the center and the neighborhoods by local buses. The market takes place in Piazza dei Leoni, in the Colli district.
Access to the market is free; food and drinks at the stands are for purchase.
The event takes place outdoors in mid-December: it is best to wear warm clothing. For the lighthearted tombola at 6:30 pm, it is advisable to arrive in the square a little early.
