The Dolomite passes just for bikes

The Dolomites Bike Day is one of the most popular events for cycling enthusiasts in the Alps. For an entire day, the Falzarego, Valparola and Campolongo passes — the latter in the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, in the province of Belluno — are closed to motorised traffic and can only be travelled by bicycle. The result is a circuit of approximately 51 kilometres with a 1290-metre elevation gain, to be tackled at your own pace immersed in the scenery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

An event for everyone

The event is free and non-competitive: no registration is required, nor is there a mandatory starting point. You can start from one of the locations on the circuit — including Arabba, Pieve di Livinallongo, Cernadoi, Corvara, San Cassiano and La Villa — and cycle in either direction. The event is open to cyclists of all levels and also to e-bikes, with photo points along the route and organisation focused on sustainability (carbon-free event).

Cycling on the roads of champions

The charm of the Dolomites Bike Day also lies in retracing, without cars, the roads made legendary by the Giro d'Italia and the Maratona dles Dolomites. Passes that are normally tackled in summer tourist traffic become, for one day, a large open-air cycling park, with views of the Marmolada, Sella and Sassongher.
