The gourmet week featuring five restaurants in Moena, Val di Fassa
Every spring, as the winter season draws to a close, Moena—long known as the "Fairy of the Dolomites"—transforms into the capital of Trentino's culinary scene. Dining with the Fairy of the Dolomites is the food and wine festival that, for over three decades, has brought together the town's top restaurants for a gourmet week dedicated to the pleasure of dining, the rediscovery of Ladin roots, and the joy of sharing.
At the heart of the event are five historic establishments in and around Moena, each with its own unique identity and chef:
Throughout the week, each restaurant offers its own tasting menu at a special price, available by reservation. These dishes, ranging from appetizers to desserts, tell the story of Val di Fassa through artisanal cheeses and cured meats, seasonal vegetables, alpine herbs, select meats, and traditional Ladin sweets.
The philosophy of the festival is to bring the territory to the table with creativity and passion. Each edition often highlights a signature product of the valley—such as alpine pasture cheeses and local dairy specialties—elevated by the chefs with a contemporary twist. The tasting menus are paired with selected wines and local spirits, creating an experience that bridges tradition and innovation.
The event is organized by Ristora Moena, in collaboration with the Moena Hotel Association, and is part of the spring event calendar in Val di Fassa, in the heart of the Trentino Dolomites. It takes place in the municipality of Moena, in the Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, and has become a highly anticipated event for food lovers and tourists who choose the mountains for their flavors as well as their views.
From March 15th to 20th, 2026, Moena hosted a new edition of Dining with the Fairy of the Dolomites, the gourmet week organized by Ristora Moena. Once again, the five participating restaurants—Malga Panna (chef Paolo Donei), Foresta (Riccardo Schacher), Rifugio Fuciade (Martino Rossi), Ostaria Tyrol, and Malga Roncac—offered special tasting menus blending Ladin tradition with culinary creativity.
The focus of the festival remained on dairy products and the valley's flavors, with dishes ranging from appetizers to desserts, all paired with carefully selected wines. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience spring in Val di Fassa through high-altitude mountain cuisine.
Moena can be reached by car from the A22 motorway exits of Egna/Ora or Bolzano Sud, continuing along the Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa valleys. By train, the nearest station is Ora, which is connected to Moena by regular bus services.
Tasting menus are available by reservation at each participating restaurant. For information, pricing, and bookings, please contact the establishments directly or reach out to Ristora Moena (tel. +39 0462 609770).
The festival is traditionally held in the second half of March for approximately one week.
